insta friday: holiday week

For insta friday, here are this week's pics from my iPhone! Hope you all have been enjoying your holidays!

I worked Christmas day but this is the display in our hospital lobby...the Christmas tree lights reflect off every window in the round lobby (including the dome skylight!) Sooo pretty! Wish my phone picked it up better...it's stunning!

Christmas lights! I loved this unique Christmas tree of lights! Isn't Jake a cutie?

My mom's No-Bake Cookies! Delicious! Click here for the recipe! The Macbook Pro is my Christmas present from Jake...he spoils me :)

Check out this Christmas card...It's my step-aunt's card this year! It cracked me up. She's really creative!

thursday latelies

Hope you are all enjoying the holidays...Happy New Year!

  • I am still shocked that Jake got me this for Christmas! Crazy! I love my guy! I really wanted to film this video on it but it's kind of impossible to film on the thing I want to show you in the video :)
  • This is the pattern for the knit cowl/scarf
  • My mom's recipe for No-Bake Cookies! YUM!
    • In a large pot on medium heat, mix (in exactly this order):
      • 1/2 cup milk
      • 4 tbs cocoa
      • 1/4 cup butter
      • 3 cups sugar
    • Stir over medium heat until sugar is smooth and there's no more granules
      • Add 1/4 cup chunky peanut butter
    • Stir until peanut butter just barely melts
      • Immediately add 3 cups old fashioned oats (not quick oats)
    • Stir quickly to coat all oats
    • Spoon out onto wax paper and let cool thoroughly
    • Loosen with a spatula to lift off wax paper
    • Enjoy!
How was your Christmas week? Did you get to enjoy time with your family too? Let me know if you try my mom's no-bake cookies...they're my FAVE!

work it wednesday: New Year's Eve Dress

New Year's Eve is almost here! I look forward to getting dressed up, having a good time with friends, and wiping the slate clean for the new year to come! It's typically pretty chilly around NYE but this year the weather is looking decent so I will definitely be sporting a dress! For this Work It Wednesday, here are 3 NYE dress outfits!

twinkle twinkle

Sequin cardigansimilar shirtpants, shoes were on clearance at Baker's for $15...score! but these are similar, similar bracelet, similar ring for $2.99!

I don't know what it is with me and my sudden urge to cover myself in sequins. Want some proof? Check here, here, and here. Either I've been watching too much Toddlers & Tiaras or all the twinkly Christmas lights are impacting my judgement.

Now don't be jealous but I'm going to be up all night tonight with my mom & sis baking and cooking for our Christmas Eve Celebration with my entire family. I'm sure it's going to be interesting almost too much fun to handle.

What are you holiday plans? Are you partaking in any traditions too? Do yours involve sleep deprivation like mine? :)

thursday latelies

Sorry, I cut it a little close at the beginning :)

Merry Christmas!!!

  • Hollywood Boot Straps: nifty little straps to keep your jeans from scrunching up when putting on your boots...so simple, why didn't I think of this?
  • Lush's Brazened Honey Face Mask: Revives tired skin, like after spending the entire weekend with your family for Christmas :) It leaves your skin fresher and brighter and is great for breakouts! Trust me...I've put this to the test!

    work it wednesday: winter white

I want a white Christmas so bad! But according to the weatherman (True, I only believe what they say about as much as I still believe in Santa Clause) but here in my area it's looking like nothing but sun for the next 10 days! I have seriously mixed feelings about this...I LOVE the sunshine, especially when it's chilly outside, but I want at least a little snow for Christmas! It appears I'm just going to have to fake a white Christmas. So here we go...For this week's Work it Wednesday, it's winter whites!

This is perfect for Christmas at my family's! Just sipping hot chocolate, sitting by the fireplace, watching everyone open gifts. It gives me the warm & fuzzies just thinking about it.
